A severe infection that creates a pocket of pus inside a tooth’s root. Get an immediate dental evaluation.
Handle the tooth only by the crown, not the root. Try to position it back; if unable to reposition, keep it moist by dipping it in milk or a saline solution, then seek immediate dental advice.
If older children have a loose or dislodged filling, or if it gets removed altogether, get the filling replaced as soon as possible.
Try to remove it gently with floss; do not use a sharp or pointed object. If it does not come off, visit your dentist right away.
